Fancy Dress

Role playing is one of the most important tools of learning.
It is the means of cognitive Development. One role play activity that children have always enjoyed is when they get an opportunity to dress up as their favorite characters.

Our Sikh history has numerous martyrs, innumerable courageous warriors, patrons, etc. Fancy dress competition serves to give the thought of children a platform while impersonating their role models and heroes.
So open up your closets, bring out those costumes and let your imagination soar!

Instructions:
  • It is an Individual Event
  • Age group:
    • Group 1 - (Below 1st Std)
    • Group 2 - (1st Std to 3rd Std)
    • Group 3 - (4th Std to 7th Std)
  • Time limit of exposition of the character being represented by you:
    • Group 1 - 1 min,
    • Group 2 - 2 mins,
    • Group 3 - 3 mins
  • You may represent prominent Sikh historical personalities, examples: Bhai Bhagel Singh, Bhai Hari Singh Nalwa and so on..
    • Sikh Martyrs examples: Bhai Bota Singh, Bhai Garja Singh, Bahadur Bibi Sharan Kaur, etc
    • In Rehat Maryada, dispelling superstitions examples: 'Cat crossing your path' or representing Sikh kakaars, Nishaan Sahib and so on..
    • Sikh Culture examples: Gurmukhi alphabets, kalam of Bhai Gurbas ji, Book Mahan Kosh, Bhai Kaan Singh Nabha and so on..
  • Events from our Golden History of 17th, 18th and 19th century till 1947
  • The participant has to recite poetry about or explain the character being represented by him/her
  • Very Important Note: Depiction of personalities of Sikh Guru Sahibaan, their families or their close associates is strictly prohibited
